Dive into an immersive overview of the 3-day Ngamba chimpanzee safari, setting the stage for a magical experience while you explore the uniquely designed Ngamba Ecolodge, combining East African aesthetics, solar lighting, and breathtaking views of Lake Victoria.

During your visit you will experience, chimpanzee viewing, feeding, shopping at the island gift shop, bird watching, experiencing other wildlife encounters, swimming on the equator, visiting a neighbouring fishing village or simply sunbathing and relaxing.

On top of being able to feed your favourite chimp, you will also watch as the chimps excitedly try and gain your attention to receive food (this activity is subject to management exclusion and policies). You will enjoy fresh lunches prepared on-site.

Note: Packed lunches and drinks on the island are prohibited, prompted by the difficulty of controlling litter associated with personal items. The ban seeks to enforce Chimpanzee Trust’s Environmental Management Policy and System, in place since the founding of Ngamba Island Sanctuary in 1998.

DAY 1: JOURNEY TO THE CHIMP HAVEN

Embark on a thrilling adventure with a choice of morning, afternoon, or evening speedboat departure to Ngamba Island. Enjoy the cruise across the sparkling waters of Lake Victoria, pausing at the Ugandan Equator for an optional refreshing swim and photos. On arrival at Ngamba Island, you will be welcomed by friendly staff who will take you to your accommodation at Ngamba Ecolodge. Cap off the day with a special sunset cruise on Lake Victoria, a mesmerizing display of local fishing life, all while sipping on cool drinks by a crackling bonfire. Dinner and overnight at Ngamba Eco Lodge.

DAY 2: CHIMPANZEE BALLET AND ISLAND DELIGHTS

Awaken your senses with morning coffee/tea, followed by an exclusive 15 to 30-minute observation of the chimpanzees’ morning rituals. Enjoy a delicious breakfast at Ngamba Ecolodge. Afterwards, embark on a boat journey to another enchanting island, immersing yourself in a nature walk, bird watching, and panoramic viewing of Ngamba Island. Return to Ngamba Ecolodge for lunch, while you recount the morning’s adventures. Enjoy an afternoon “chimpanzee tracking “experience in the heart of the chimpanzee territory, guided by experts along the shores of Lake Victoria. Witness the chimpanzees’ snack time and you try to decode their communication and marvel at their ingenuity. Dinner and overnight at Ngamba EcoLodge. Return to Ngamba Ecolodge for a sumptuous dinner and a night of relaxation.

DAY 3: REFLECTIONS AND FAREWELL

Awaken to the soothing ambience of Ngamba Island and enjoy a relaxing breakfast. Roam freely around Ngamba Island, savouring the serenity, or unwind on your private balcony or terrace as you reflect on the incredible journey, the wisdom gained about chimpanzees, and the beauty of Ngamba Island. Bid farewell to this island paradise as the boat waits at 12:45 pm/noon for a scenic journey back to Entebbe.
