This golden monkey and mountain gorilla trekking experience gives you a chance to meet the endangered mountain gorilla in northern Rwanda with a scenic drive to the thousand hills. It can start from any location depending on the client(s) interest. This trip of 3days features a visit to the primates in Volcanoes National Park alongside other cultural sites for a unique adventure into the Rwandan Culture.

DAY 1: TRANSFER FROM KIGALI TO VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK.
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by our company representative. Depending on the time of arrival in Rwanda, Take a city tour to visit some of the key important tourist attractions like genocide memorials and museums. Have lunch and then drive to Musanze in Volcanoes National Park which is about 2 hours and 30 minutes drive from Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, ranked as the cleanest city in Africa.

Flying from Kigali to Volcanoes is also available once you have selected flying Safari for your visit to Rwanda’s Famous home of the mountain gorillas.

DAY 2: GORILLA TRACKING IN VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK.
You will be required to wake up very early in the morning to have breakfast and prepare for the primate search of the mountain gorillas and golden monkeys since most activities at Volcanoes National Park are better to begin early in the morning. After breakfast proceed to Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a briefing on the rules and regulations of the gorilla tracking tour and the allocation of groups to be tracked. The driver guide will drive you to the starting point for the mountain gorilla tracking experience in the tropical rain forest in search of the mountain gorillas starting from where they were located the previous day until you find them. On finding the allocated gorilla group you will be given some time like an hour to study their behaviours and take photos of the big apes (without a flashlight). You may find them doing their daily chores of feeding their young ones, climbing trees and others just relaxing.
Drive back to the accommodation for lunch and relaxation, dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: GOLDEN MONKEY TRACKING DRIVE BACK TO KIGALI.
On this day, You will have breakfast and then drive to the volcanoes for a Golden Monkey tracking walk in the forest. During this activity, you may also spot other primates like the Black and White Colobus monkey, White Colobus monkey, Baboons, and Red-tailed Monkeys among others. Drive back to the accommodation for lunch and check-out after which you will drive to Kigali airport depending on the time of your flight or drop off at your hotel.
