Uganda has a warm tropical climate with temperatures ranging between 25 C to 28 C. The mountainous areas are much cooler for example Elgon is mostly covered with snow and Rwenzori which has a snow top throughout the year.
Most areas of Uganda except the Northern part of Uganda receive rain between 1,000 mm to 1,500 mm. There is heavy rain between March and May and September and November, making road travel difficult in most parts of the country. The best time for trekking is during dry season.
